In this sample, there are a few extra details because I wanted my subs to know how things were going to be built. Most plans will show the details necessary to build a house. Electrical and plumbing documents are typically not included, but in many cases these can be obtained if needed.

I have been thinking about the copyright laws and how irrelevant they are for many house plans. Basically, I do not believe many house plans should have a copyright on them. Let me explain...

For years production house plans have made a substantial impact on how home buyers and builders have made home ownership decisions. It's been a long time sense plans started showing up in magazines and later on the Internet. Because the economy was exploding, production house plans and custom plan sales carried home designers and architects for many years.

But today, things are different, and 95 percent of the house plans available are no longer making an impact. People want something different.

So what makes us different?

This site is meant to be used for what people use all house plan websites for, gathering interior and exterior ideas. However, the designers and architects of Webside House Plans, recognize that while there are copyright issues, the very idea that house plans are visible on the Internet by the tens of thousands, only emphasizes the fact that people search the Internet for ideas.

There are more than 1,220,000 (that is million) searches every month for house plans. There are not that many homes being built, another fact. Lets face it, most people do not always know what they want until they can do some research, gather ideas and convey these ideas with visuals; sketches, photos and plan images to a designer or architect.

The only thing we do ask is that you honor a designers or architects house plan ideas by choosing the designer/architect that drew the majority of the plan ideas. Example, you might find a house plan that fits most of your needs, but the front style is wrong, the kitchen needs to be reworked and you want to add a 4 season porch.

Please contact the designer/architect of the plan that you are working your new ideas around. He or she may be able to modify the plan for less than to have it completely redrawn from scratch.

What else makes our house plan site different

Our free house plans are fully documented and ready for construction. Period. For a small processing fee you can build a home from these house plans. Some sites will offer a single free house plan that nobody wants, or ask you to sign up to receive a free house plan in a competition. Or the best one; free house plan quotes - like who doesn't offer that?

What do you really want, why are you searching the Internet for house plans, why are you here?

Chances are, you are looking for a plan that fits all your needs and desires. We hope you will find it here, however, the chances of finding a plan that fits everything you are looking for is slim to none. Kind of takes the wind out of your sail - sorry. We just want you to be honest about what you really want. If you are just starting to look, feel free to look around and gather ideas. If one of the designers/architects on this site can help you, we would appreciate your business.

Keep one important thing in mind. If you are about to spend $100,000 to $1,000,000 to build a new house, don't try to save $500 settling for a free house plan that doesn't give you everything you want. We are happy to offer free house plans, but your monthly house payment doesn't typically stop for 30 years - get what you want in a plan design that fits your needs and desires.

Shipping and Handling (Processing Fee)

‡There is a processing fee of only $19.95 which includes creating a new account, updating the plans with your personal contact name and emailing the files to you. Some of these plans are not completed and require that we complete them which can take from 15 minutes to update some codes, to several hours if the plans were never completed to build from. Bottom line, you get a plan for free plus only $19.95 P/F, instead of $650.00 plus $39.95 S/H.
